New Year- 12 Simple Health Suggestions!

Here is to your health!

I wanted to list some ways in which you can improve your mental and physical health this New Year!

  1. Surround with uplifting and positive people who aren’t afraid to be passionate about life!

   2. Realize that is it OKAY to experience emotions such as sadness, grief, anger, etc. and more. Our emotions are often a natural response and can be healthy if we react positively and use them to improve ourselves!

   3. Minimize technology use!

   4. Get adequate sleep! Sleep deprivation has the same effect on your immune system as physical stress or illness.

   5. Make time for yourself every day to something that you enjoy doing. Even if it is for only 20 minutes a day, do something for yourself daily that is just for you.

   6. EAT HEALTHIER! Most of the foods that we eat are processed foods that are low in nutrients. Try eating more REAL food such as raw fruits and vegetables. Also, try making one small change a week to start eating healthier. Do not think that any changes need to be all or nothing.

   7. Get your Vitamin D level tested. Most people are vitamin D deficient which causes many health problems.

   8. Sit less and walk more. Sitting several hours a day can lead to many health difficulties. Get up and walk around more often when possible.

9. Start a new exercise routine. Exercise produces the same hormone as antidepressant medications and has mental and physical health benefits.

  10. Drink more water! If you do not like to drink plain water, try squeezing a lemon in it. It makes it tastier and has many health benefits.

   11. Demonstrate more all-around self- care. You cannot take care of others if you so not take care of yourself first.

12. Do not limit yourself in life just because someone else can do it better. This should not hinder you from pursuing your passions! No one has ever done it like you and that’s what is significant about your delivery!
