Difficult Days- How to Get Through Them

Everyone has difficult days. It does not matter who you are. You can be educated, mature, a strong Christian, even a Pastor!

Hard times- do not discriminate.

It may look like others have it all together and never have adversity but that is not true. Everyone has difficult times in their lives.

I tell my clients that it is okay to get sad, to feel depressed, to stay in their jammies and to pout or cry for a while.

However, it is important to then get back up and keep on truckin after their pity parties!

Cry, rest, vent, and then pull up your boot straps and keep trying at what you are striving for or what you are trying to heal from.

It may be that you got your heart broken over a loss. It may be that you need a job. It may just be that you have anxiety over a situation. What ever it is, you can get through it and survive it!

First of all, take slow deep breaths!

Secondly, talk positive to yourself.
Literally tell yourself that you will be okay and that you can get through your difficult time.

Next, talk to someone and/ or vent by writing down your feelings. Ask yourself what the very first thing is that you can do to help your situation and work toward that first step.

It also helps to give your heart aches and concerns over to God. Pray and ask the Lord to help your heavy heart and give him your worries and hurt feelings.

A helpful way to write things down and to give them to the Lord is to write the things down that you are giving to Him and to literally place the notes into a little box and call it your “God Box”.

This exercise of writing and placing it somewhere as you relinquish it helps you to feel like you followed through in letting go of the things you have no control of over -to God.

Tell yourself that you will do all that you can do with what you have with where you are………..and then do not worry about what is out of your control.

TAKE  ONE DAY AT A TIME! DO THE BEST THAT YOU CAN AND GIVE THE REST TO GOD AND -LET IT GO -INTO HIS HANDS!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
