Learn To Trust God- He Cares For You and Loves You!

Trusting God is simply believing that He loves you, He’s good, He has the power to help you, He wants to help you, and He can and will help you!

Christians are called believers, but many times, we are more like unbelieving believers. We trust our friends, the bank, the stock market or the government often more than we trust God and His Word.

In John 15:5, Jesus says that apart from Him, we can do nothing. We need to lean on Him for help with everything in our lives. Sadly, a lot of people go to church, hear what they should do and then go home and try to do it on their own.

They usually end up desperately telling God how hard they’re trying to do what they need to do, and they’re leaving Him out!
God wants us to put Him first in our lives. He wants us to put our confidence and trust in Him, all the time, and in everything.

Proverbs 3:5,6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (NKJV).

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, the Spirit of God comes to live inside you. This is one of the greatest blessings of salvation: You don’t have to go through someone else to get to God. He dwells in your heart and you can learn to hear His voice.

The best way to hear from God and know how He wants you to live is to know what the Bible, His Word, says. God’s Word gives us wisdom. And as we study the Bible, our mind is renewed (see Romans 12:2), so we no longer just think the way the world thinks – we can think the way God thinks! We have the mind of Christ!

Medications Used For Depression- To Take or Not To Take?

Depression, anxiety, and panic disorders can be debilitating. Many individuals get prescriptions of medications to help them with these types of disorders. Many other people chose not to take medications.

Taking medication along with being actively in counseling has been proven to exhibit the best results for many people who were in a  crisis mode.

What the medication can do is to help an individual to get past a crisis time in their life and help to stabilize their mood in order for them to start counseling. Medication can be very helpful for when a person is severely depressed as well. A person does not need to stay on the medication forever in most cases but rather it is a temporary helpful avenue while counseling can be started.

Other people are strongly against medication and engage in holistic measures along with counseling. Some of these things are to simply get more fresh air, sunshine, exercise, drink more water, utilize positive coping skills such as breathing exercises and journaling for example, and to dive deep into proper nutrition such as with juicing vegetables....all on a daily basis.

The important thing is to do what feels right for you personally to treat such disorders.

Some people do not like the side effects that comes along with medications. Other people are not disciplined enough to implement the things that they need to do to treat depression and anxiety naturally.

It is best to explore your options and try a way in which you are most comfortable with!

Attending support groups can be very helpful as well.

Great Ways To Improve Your Communication- Learn These Tips!

Be a better communicator with these tips!

Be an active listener.

Ask for clarification.

Reflect back what you heard. "Example-- "I hear you saying that you would like me to unload the dishwasher more often".

Reflect back how the person may be feeling. Example--" That must be very frustrating for you".

Use "I" statements--  "I feel very sad when you do not spend time with me after work".

Always, Always be respectful!!!!!!

Try not to assume.

Remember to let the other person know that you heard what they told you- instead of just being ready to say your part.

If you are too upset to talk respectfully- tell the person that you are talking to that you need to take a 'cooling off time out' for a few minutes... and then tell them when you plan to resume the conversation.

BEWARE OF YOUR BODY LANGUAGE! Non-verbal communication makes up about  90% of communication!!

Keep your tone of your voice respectful.

Remember that people cannot get a full picture of your tone through texting and email.
