Renew Your Strength

So much of life is a desert.  It saps our energy, time, and spirit.  We’re left beaten down.

If you’ve neglected feeding upon the Word of God, now is a good time to return and drink deeply from the living waters.

Make the new year a time for renewal.

Charles Spurgeon writes, “A man’s life cannot be sustained without renewal from God.  As it is necessary to repair the body  by the frequent meal, so we must repair the soul by feeding upon the Book of God or by listening to the preached Word or by the soul-fattening table of worship and praise.  How depressed are our Christian lives when spiritual food is neglected!”

Spurgeon goes on to write, “If we permit the good to grow weaker, the evil will surely gather strength and struggle desperately to master us.  Let us draw near to the footstool of divine mercy in humble prayer.”

As the apostle James wrote, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.”

Don’t let this be the year where you neglected to return to the living waters and renew your strength.
