Depression- When Sleep Becomes an Escape

When you are depressed, stressed, sad or have anxiety, sleep can be a way to escape.

For some, they are just too depressed to even get out of bed. It is as if their depression paralyzes them in a sense.

For others, they are able to get through the demands of their day but they look forward to sleep. They want to just fall asleep as a means to have a relief or escape from having to feel their depression.

If you are experiencing feeling this way, know that you are not alone.

I want you to know that there is help and hope.

You can learn to adapt coping skills and self-care strategies to help you better deal with your depression. Seek professional help if you feel as if you need it.

You can also start demonstrating basic self-care such as taking daily walks outside, joining a support group, journal your feelings, draw or paint how you are feeling by putting them in a picture, reach out to someone that you can talk to, take slow deep breaths, engage in positive self-talk, attend church, join a small group at church, pray, and resist unhealthy coping behaviors to name a few.

If you find yourself looking forward to sleep to escape, it may be okay for a short while. However, if these feelings continue; you may need to take extra steps to start feeling better such as counseling.

There is always HOPE!

Depression - Help With Feeling Isolated

If you have ever felt depressed, you know how isolating it can feel.

Even if you have someone to share your feelings with, it is usually very difficult to get someone to understand how you truly feel.

This is why it is important to seek professional help. A professional should be able to understand in a way where others may not be able to do so.

At least reach out to someone when you are feeling depressed. It can help to share your feelings. It is scientifically proven that you feel better after expressing your feelings to someone else.

It is also helpful to increase your self care and coping skills. A counselor could also help you with these. One of the best things that you can do is to go outside and get some fresh air and to take slow deep breaths. Tell yourself that you will be okay and seek help.

There is always hope and help available. You are not alone. Most cities have mental health centers in which offer a sliding scale. Do not think that you cannot afford care. Seek help today if you feel like you need professional help.

Your life matters and you are worthy!

Depression & The Battle Of The Mind..... Not Feeling Understood

If you are battling depression or another mental illness, do you ever feel like no one understands?

Has anyone told you to just get over it?

You feel bad because you are fighting a battle against your own mind on a continuous basis.

I understand that you can feel tired or depressed- 'for no apparent reason'.

I get you.

I also know that many people will not.

It is important to seek support and help from people who do understand you.

Seek Help.

Seek Support.

You are not alone.

Have Less- Do More

Hello. Do you ever get stressed from clutter?

Do you feel like you would feel better if you went through things and down sized?

Having less in general and being organized can help us feel better in every way.

Try and focus on activity and movement in life.

Think outside of the box.

Think and make plans that are out of your comfort zone.

Unclutter your mind and your life and reach out toward the direction of your passions in life!
