Don't "Stuff Your Stuff"- Let Your Emotions Flow

Do not stuff "your stuff"!

Let your emotions out.

Let yourself Feel.....Let yourself heal!

If you do not let them out, they will come out in other ways.

These ways may include anger outbursts and mental and/ or physical health diseases.

Journal, talk to someone, get in to see a counselor, attend a group counseling support group, make a collage of pictures of how you feel, or draw how you feel.

Try different ways to get out your feelings and emotions.

Allow yourself to feel how you feel. Having negative feelings is not a bad thing. It all depends on what you do with your negative emotions and feelings. Choose to use them to help you heal.

Allow your true feelings and emotions to flow out in appropriate ways.

This will help you to heal and to prevent them coming out in unhealthy ways.

Look Ahead- The Importance Of Having a Vision

Many people who have been through a difficult time often find themselves STUCK.

They are so consumed with their turmoil and/ or the after math of their traumas that they cannot look forward.

They cannot see past how they are feeling right now. All they can see and feel is the damage of their problems, misfortunes, tragedies, and so on.

While it is good to allow yourself to feel what you are feeling, it is helpful to have a vision in your mind of how healing can look like.

It is good to visualize how your life can be in the future, what and how you would like your life to be, etc..

If you do not have a mental vision of how your life can improve and what you would like to strive for in your life, it is difficult to work toward change.

This is true whether you are living with the effects of a bad decision or if you have endured a tragedy.

Allow yourself to feel exactly how you feel and then look forward to things being different in your life.

Often, it is not what we have gone through in life but rather- our responses to situations that take us and others down.

What would you like to change in your life? How do you see yourself living after you have worked through healing, a loss, etc.?

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, Philippians 3:13

Visualize it. Write it down. Cut out pictures of it. Believe you can and work toward your visions and goals one step at a time.

We are often faced with extremely difficult and sad times.

You may think your life is over with what you have endured.

However, healing is on the horizon.

There is help for what you are going through and there is help.

You are not alone.

Start today to visualize a new life for yourself.

Pray For Others

There is so much crime and so many natural disasters in our country ..... that are hurting people.

I just want to encourage you to pray for others.

Pray for their safety and for their health.

Pray for them to be able to heal from being personally affected by tragedy.

Turing a New Leaf: Making the Most of This Fall.

Even though it does not feel like it in many places, it is now officially autumn. While fall brings plenty of lovely things, such as bonfires, pumpkins, and hayrides, it is also a time of year when it is easy to get swept up in the business of life. The laid back vibes of summer go out the window, and now you must find ways to get back into a routine.

With all the chaos going on, it gets harder to find time for the things and people you love-- the things that make life worth living. It is easy to let yourself feel the stress of work, school, and other responsibilities that are so demanding of your time.

Today I want to encourage y'all to not get carried away in the craziness, but to be intentional about how you spend your time. Are you taking the time to enjoy the simple things, like a pretty sunset or the leaves changing colors? Are you making time to spend with those who mean a lot to you? How about your walk with Christ? Are you paying attention to the beauty of His works? Are you listening for His voice?

Allow God to work in and through you this fall season. Don't let yourself fall into a rut! Get out of your comfort zone and try something new. Turn a new leaf and let this fall be a time of fresh starts. As Ferris Bueller perfectly said: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
