Feeling Blue? Seek Sunshine!

If you are feeling down in the dumps, one of the very best things that you can do to feel better emotionally is to go outside and get some vitamin D sunshine! 

Yes, basking in the sun for long periods can be harmful to your skin. But some fresh air and sunshine can the best medicine that there is for combating the blues. 

I even lay outside at times on my lawn chair in the cool months all bundled up except for my face to get in my vitamin D. It is good for our mental and physical health and good for the soul!

When I suggest this to my clients, they say that they know that they need to do this but they just can’t seem to make themselves start to do it.  Just START doing it!  Just make yourself. Write it down to do if you have to and tell yourself that you are going to do it and follow though- every day. After a while, it will become habit and you won’t be fighting it. You will be so drawn to it because it will make you feel so much better emotionally and physically.


Did you know that getting sunshine is actually good for your heart as well? Try to go outside for at least 15 minutes a day and soak up some sunshine for your health!
